Kolobe Game Lodge

Nestled between the low hills close to Klerksdorp Dam, Kolobe (Home of the Warthog) Game Lodge  and Aviation Park is ideally situated to provide  the weary traveller with a tranquil stay over in a true Bushveld atmosphere. Grass runways allow access to light Aircraft and Microlight  Aircraft.

The area is rich in history with the remains of indigenous settlements and cattle kraals visible on the surrounding koppies. Towards Platberg in the North, the area is known for rock engravings, and towards the west lies the Koppies of Hartbeesfontein  created when a meteorite plunged into earth near Parys to create the well known Vredefort Dome.

Kolobe caters for  both business people looking for overnight accommodation as well as holiday makers. Small fully catered for conferences (up to 40 people) can easily be accommodated in the Lapa area.

The beautifully appointed En-suite chalets offer a comfortable and rustic stay while  the central roofed  lapa boasts a fully equipped kitchen, extra  bathroom, built in braai and bar. A deck overlooking the water hole provides an ideal vantage point from where to observe the game and the abundant bird life in the area.

How to get there:

Take Ventersdorp road towards Klerksdorp Dam. Turn right 200m past Dam entrance at the Kemonate Lodge sign. Follow tarred road. Where roads turns left, continue strait on on dirt road through gate of Flip & Trudie Oosthuizen. Just before farmhouse gate, turn lft and follow green arrows   Click Map for bigger version
